The art of early ‘branding’

Early examples of 20th Century packaging are true typography masterpieces.

The boldest primitive advertising claims are set in beautiful typography. This is in stark contrast to most of today’s packaging, which relies heavily on the use of photography and gradients. With the passing of time the message to the consumer, became based on the principles of subconscious sales trickery. Photoshop stepped in to create the perfect white teeth for toothpaste boxes and every single carton of juice features 100% perfectly rounded oranges with equally spaced water droplets to get that sense of freshness across.

Here at Okzident we truly love typographic packaging design. Our collection features a number of amazing classic products with virtually beautiful packaging to match.
